We’re a pair of keen trail runners from New Zealand on a mission to pursue some epic and exciting outdoor adventures. We’re certainly not elite athletes let alone hardened exploration veterans, but we’ll learn quickly, we’re full of enthusiasm and we’re bloody determined.
After 3 years in the concrete jungle and office centric culture of Singapore we were uninspired in our careers, confused and tired. At 28 and fully enveloped in our ‘quarter-life crises’ we left behind our corporate jobs in search of a fresh, fun and unforgettable experience.
Designer of Fastpack Journal and master trip planner. Over a lengthy stint of ‘fun-employment’, Jeff has taught himself how to knock together a website and incompetently operate a smartphone camera.Jeff largely neglected his local trails while growing up in beautiful Taranaki, NZ. Originally dragged into trail running by Rosie, Jeff is now a sucker for freezing stream crossings, hill climbs and clings to the childish idea of being an adventure explorer. While he enjoys racing and is the proud title holder of a marathon in 2015 (…that only had 12 participants), Jeff most enjoys running untimed and unmeasured with Kendrick Lamar song playing in his head on-repeat.
As an accomplished New Zealand sailor, Rosie is no stranger to athletic adventures in challenging conditions involving both the mind and body. Rosie came into trail running through a love of New Zealand’s native forests and a 9 month stint working in the somewhat “docile” city of Palmerston North.Rosie has all the ideas to make Fastpack Journal fresh and interesting as she pursues a travel adventure that is outside the box and out of her comfort zone. She also keeps her finger on the pulse of all things health and nutrition, including obscure superfoods and barefoot technique!
